Election of Officers, Guest Speaker Matt Cecill and Social
Tuesday, November 8 – 7:00 pm
Six Mile Pub, 494 Old Island Highway
The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm to allow time for the Tuesday night training group to attend. Come at 7 pm if you want to order dinner. The club will be providing some light snacks and there will be a discounted price for Driftwood beers.
We will have a very short business meeting, election of officers and presentation by our guest speaker Matt Cecill.
We are fortunate to have local runner Matt Cecill with us at this year’s AGM as our special speaker. Matt has been developing his running skills and building endurance over several years, and also honing his passion for photography and film making. Matt has become a well known local ultra runner with accomplishments under his belt, including surpassing the fastest known time running the entire length of the West Coast Trail in 2014. He also won and set a course record at the Fat Dog 120 Miler in Keremeos in 2014, and broke the course record at the Deception Pass 50K in December 2014.
Matt is a founding partner of “Project Talaria”, where he is involved in documenting adventures and bringing stories and events to life through film. Through his project Talaria work, he has raised awareness and funds for the foundation “Live It Love It”. Matt gained profile though some of his earlier films (one of which is deserving of cult status), but is also now known for his recent striking race videos, including the Finlayson Arm 28/50K, Sun Mountain 25K/50K/50 miler, and the Yakima Skyline races to name a few.
Matt also provides personalized run coaching to a number of local runners. He offers coaching for endurance events from 10K to 100 miles and beyond, and offers running workshops for trail running skill development.
Please join us to hear more of what inspires Matt Cecill at this year’s AGM.
