Prairie Inn Harriers Club ExecutiveThe Harriers Annual General Meeting is held every November and four executive members are elected: president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. In addition to the elected executive, a number of other directors are appointed to manage certain club responsibilities throughout the year. 2012 Board Of Governors
President
The president is the chief executive officer of the society and supervises the control of all club business and affairs. She presides at all meetings of the directors and recognizes by-laws of the constitution at general monthly meetings.
Vice President
The vice president shall perform the function and duties of the president in her absence. He will assist the president with tasks such as newsletter race reports and social events.
Secretary
The secretary shall keep a book of minutes at all meetings of the directors or members. She shall have custody of the constitution and manage all correspondence of the society.
Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for all finances, assets and securities of the society. He receives and disburses monies from all sources and maintains the financial records of the club. 2012 DirectorsDirectors are appointed and attend all Board of Governors meetings in conjunction with the elected officials to discuss executive business.
Social Director
Responsible for coordinating all social functions including club runs, the annual awards party, the family barbecue and other social events.
Newsletter Director
Responsible for coordinating, producing and distributing material for the quarterly club Newsletter, the Prairie Inn Post (PIP).
Race Equipment Director
Responsible for storage, maintenance, acquisition and rental of race equipment owned by the Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club.
VIRA Representative
Responsible for representing the Harriers at VIRA meetings and providing liaison with Vancouver Island Runners' Association.
Results & Fixtures Director
Responsible for reporting current race results and updating the membership on upcoming race fixtures.
Club History Director
Responsible for club history, photo albums, past race results, scholarships, statistics and media liaison.
Membership Director
Responsible for maintaining membership lists and fees, application forms and B.C. Athletics liaison.
New Members Director
Responsible for welcoming new members to the club and providing introductory materials and orientation.
Race Walking Director
Responsible for coordinating all race walking activities within the Harriers including local races and social club walks.
Foundation Director
Responsible for chairing the Harriers Foundation Committee to initiate, review and report on community and charitable club projects.
Website Director
Responsible for maintaining the club's internet home page and coordinating related communications.
Pioneer 8K Race Director
Responsible for coordinating the club's annual fixture in the Frontrunners Island Race Series.
Sponsorship Director
Responsible for recruiting and servicing any corporate sponsorships for the club and its events. |
